STINAPA Junior Ranger: manual published

STINAPA’s Junior Ranger programme, which evolved out of STINAPA’s commitment to youth engagement, is an out of school nature education programme established in 2010 to help teenagers develop their knowledge and understanding about nature and conservation. Targeting kids between the ages of 13 and 21, the programme encourages the development of leadership skills, critical thinking and problems solving and provides vocational training including PADI dive certification up to Dive Master level.
Junior Rangers move up through a highly structured programme, which includes educational components, hands on training and a variety of environmental activities, from entry level (Aspirant) to Captain and Commander. Their most famous graduate to date is Luigi Eybrecht who won the prestigious “Hope and Inspiration Ranger Award”, which was presented at the World Parks Congress in Syney in 2014.
The manual itself is the culmination of several years of hard work by STINAPA’s nature education staff, Desiree Croes, Bibi Brongers, Junior Ranger volunteers and others and contains all you need to know to set up a sophisticate and goal oriented after school nature education program. It is not only a phenomenal resource and ‘must have’ for education officers everywhere, it sets a new standard for after school and vocation training
