Princess Beatrix visits Bonaire

We are honored that HRH Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands as Patron of DCNA accepted the invitation of STINAPA Bonaire for the celebration of their 50 year anniversary of the Washington Slagbaai National Park, the 40 year anniversary of the Bonaire National Marine Park and the 10 year celebration of STINAPA Bonaire Junior Rangers Program.

STINAPA Bonaire is a non-governmental organisation that is responsible for the management of the national parks on Bonaire and is a member of the DCNA.

The visit included a visit to STINAPA’s head office, Washington Slagbaai National Park, DCNA’s ‘Economy and Nature in balance?” symposium and finalized with STINAPA’s junior rangers debate on ‘Will sustainable development hinder or benefit Bonaire’s economy?’.

We are thankful to HRH Princess Beatrix and our colleagues from STINAPA, DCNA and all others involved for their excellent work on making this an inspiring visit. But we are especially proud of our panel members, especially the youth, for representing our common goals. Masha danki!

Together we will keep striving to put nature conservation and restoration as a priority for Bonaire’s future so that this generation and generations to come can keep enjoying Bonaire’s beautiful nature.
