Iris Holtkuile

Iris Holtkuile grew up in the eastern part of the Netherlands and studied Communication & Media in Utrecht. After living and working in the city for eight years, she decided it was time for a change and swapped the city for the island of Bonaire.

With a background in advertising, branding, and copywriting, Iris has worked on shaping engaging stories for a wide range of organizations. She enjoys turning complex topics into messages that people can easily connect with, always with an eye for strategy.

Living in the Caribbean helped Iris connect her communication expertise with her interest in nature and conservation. Being close to nature and conservation efforts showed her how essential strong, clear storytelling is to protecting it.

From January 2025, Iris has joined Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA) as Marketing & Communications Manager. In this role, she focuses on strengthening DCNA’s communication, supporting its partner organizations, and sharing the stories behind nature conservation in the Dutch Caribbean.
