BioNews is a monthly newsletter by the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA), focusing on the biodiversity research and monitoring in the Dutch Caribbean. BioNews presents you with an overview of the on-going research and monitoring efforts and provides a regular update on what’s currently happening on our islands.
This issue focuses on a three year long shark conservation project “Save our Sharks” which is funded by the Dutch Postcode Lottery and which kick started in August with Kingdom wide “Shark Week” events.
The poor financial situation of the park management organizations in the Dutch Caribbean is another subject under review, following the finalization of a report by IMARES.
Finally there is an update on cetacean monitoring.
